UNEP, Ghana to develop cycling and walking action plan The UN Environment Programme, UNEP, is supporting Ghana to develop a policy known as the "Cycling and Walking Action Plan" by the end of this year. This plan is to encourage the government to designate space for pedestrian walkways and pavements for bikes to reduce the incessant carnage on the roads. In respect of this, the first meeting between the organisation and stakeholders in the country will begin next month (April 2018). A Programmes Officer of the UNEP, in charge of Share The Road Programme, Carly Koinange, disclosed this in an interview with Radio Ghana’s Joyce Gyekye during the Africa Mobility week in Kenya.
