Korle-Bu, Ridge and La General Hospitals receive ultra-modern medical equipment 

People seeking medical care at the Korle-Bu, Ridge and La General Hospitals would receive better healthcare following the receipt of ultra-modern equipment from some medical practitioners from Germany and the United States. 

The gesture is under the BRAIN Project supported by the Ghana Commercial Bank, Global Outreach Consortium, future of Africa Foundation and the "Rebecca Foundation'.

The equipment worth five million dollars including anesthesia and nuero surgery machines, is to ease pressure at these major health facilities. 

Patients and Clients who often visit these major health facilities; Korle-Bu, Ridge and the La General Hospitals complain of poor quality of service as they lack very vital equipment, leading to loss of lives. 

The BRAIN project therefore seeks to bridge this gap by providing modern medical equipment and also perform some major surgeries for deprived people for free. 

Leading Medical Practitioners from two hospitals in Germany and the United States are currently in the country for two weeks to provide diagnosis, surgery, treatment and consultancy in orthopaedic, neurology among others. 

Surgeon and Co-Founder of Global Outreach Consortium, Dr Jean Loius Benoni have so far identified lack of proper management of staff in the hospitals as a major challenge in healthcare delivery.

The Medical Director of Ridge Hospital now Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyo, said the life-saving equipment is timely.

The Managing Director of the Ghana Commercial Bank, Ray Sowah, entreated authorities of Korle-Bu, Ridge and La General Hospitals to ensure proper maintenance of the medical equipment.
