Environmentalists kick against government's decision to mine Bauxite in Atiwa Forest A group of NGOs and Youth Groups from Atewa in the Eastern Region are on a six-day protest march from Kyebi in the Eastern Region to Accra to present a petition to President Akufo Addo to halt the planned mining of Bauxite in the Atewa forest. Spokesperson for the group, Daryl Bosu said government should abort any plan of mining in the area, because the bauxite at Atewa is of low grade.
