UN throws its support behind Zimbabwe elections


The United Nations is in favour of new elections to be held in Zimbabwe in July. 

Achim Steiner, administrator for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), urged the government to kick start the nation's economy as an "urgent priority".

Steiner, who met Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Harare, was in the country on a three-day trip.
