N/R: Government justifies burning of tipper trucks in Kumbungu Government has justified the burning of tractors and excavators in the Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern Region (N/R) belonging to some individuals who were accused of using the equipment for sand winning in the area. Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak said government cannot justify such an illegality in a democratic era. He noted that in as much as the National Democratic Congress (NDC), supports government in its quest to clamp down on persons who engage in illegal activities that threatens the environment, it will not sit aloof and watch government to commit such illegalities. The Secretary of Tipper Trucks Drivers Association, Yahaya Iddrisu said the Association is yet to take a decision on going to court. He said their next line of action will depend on what the Chief and opinion leaders in the Constituency decide on. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
