6th March, 2018 The Daily Graphic urges the public to put their acts together to move the country beyond aid as it celebrates its 61st milestone as an independent country. The Paper says it finds the theme for this year's independence anniversary, 'Ghana Beyond Aid', appropriate. The Graphic is of the view that the theme should rekindle the nation to work harder towards economic emancipation. The Ghanaian Times says as part of efforts to protect the country's rivers, the seizure of machines and imposition of fines on recalcitrant sand winners could have been a much better alternative than the mass destruction of the equipment. The paper says to ensure peace, security and stability; the security agency must act with circumspection. It commends the initiative of the Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC) in retooling the security agencies in the region to fight crime and maintain a peaceful environment.
