Northern Regional Security Council denies authorizing burning of fourteen tipper trucks and two excavators at Afayili in Kumbungu District

The Northern Regional Security Council has denied authorising the burning of fourteen tipper trucks and two excavators at Afayili in the Kumbungu District of the Northern Region. 

The Chairman of the Regional Security Council, Salifu Saed, said the destruction of the vehicles was carried out by Operation Vanguard, which falls under the Ministry of Defence. Mr. Saed made this known in a telephone interview with our Northern Regional Correspondent, Murtala Issah.

NDC executives in the northern region have condemned the burning of fourteen tipper trucks and an excavator at Afayili in the Kumbungu district of the northern region. 

At a Press Conference today, the regional secretary of the NDC Rauf Halid, said the trucks should have been impounded instead of being burnt.

He dismissed suggestions that the NDC was trying to score political points with the matter.
