Woman, 44, stabbed to death by suspected robbers

A 44-year old woman has been stabbed to death in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region. 

The victim, Mrs. Bernice Paku who deals in Batik, was pierced in her abdomen with a kitchen knife while on her way home. The robbers snatched her bag and bolted.

This latest incident adds up to the recent spate of armed robbery and insecurity in the country. 

Despite assurances from the police hierarchy that they are on top of the issue, some security experts are calling for military intervention. 

Radio Ghana is picking up reports that the minority in parliament is planning to file an urgent motion to summon the Minister for the Interior, Defence and the National Security  to brief the House on the country's security situation.
