Hope Hicks resigns as Trump's White House communications chief

Reports from the White House indicate that President Donald Trump's Communications Director and longest-serving adviser, Hope Hicks is to step down.

She is reported to have told colleagues that she feels accomplished after many years of service.

Ms Hicks is said to have admitted that she had occasionally told what amounted to "white lies" for President Trump.

But she denied lying about anything relevant to the investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

The 29-year-old former model and ex-Trump Organization employee has worked for Mr Trump for years.
