1st March, 2018 The Daily Graphic says it is time to turn attention to the redevelopment and protection of national parks in the country. Citing the Mole National Park and the Shai Hills Resource, the paper laments how illegal activities of poachers and loggers have led to the destruction of the park. The Graphic is worried that Ghana stands to lose her reputation as a destination for tourists if the canker persists. The Ghanaian Times raises concern about the breakdown of street lights, plunging the country into darkness at night. The Times is concerned because darkness provides cover for miscreants and affects the country's GDP. The paper attributes the menace to the general lack of proper maintenance culture towards public property. It says the non-functioning street lights are an eyesore, adding that the public needs not be reminded to protect public property and fix them when they get faulty. The Daily Heritage wants the negative perception about the study of agriculture in the country changed. According to the paper, some Agric Science lesson periods are used for weeding, which makes farming an unattractive venture to the youth from the basic level. It calls on the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to fine-tune the Agriculture syllabi to make it an attractive subject to entice the youth to venture into the sector. This according to the Heritage is an effective way of maintaining governments youth agenda under its ‘Planting For Food and Jobs policy.’ GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
