Women at Guo in Upper West welcome new maternal and childcare facility Women at Guo and its surrounding communities in the Nandom District of the Upper West Region will no longer travel to Ho Polyclinic for delivery and other reproductive health services. This is because the Community Based Health and Planning Services, CHPS facility has been expanded to provide more services such as maternal health and childcare. This was possible through the financial assistance from the U.S Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Programme as well as contributions from the Guo Youth and Development Association and the Nandom District Assembly. At a ceremony to inaugurate the facility at Guo, the U.S Ambassador to Ghana Robert Peter Jackson said the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Programme will continue to support self-help driven community driven initiatives that are sustainable.
