Cabinet to take decision on lifting of ban on Small Scale mining today

Cabinet is to take a decision on the lifting of the ban on Small Scale mining today. 

However, the Chairman of the Inter Ministerial Committee against Galamsey, Prof. Frimpong Boateng has indicated that lifting of the ban now will not be prudent because the gains made are minimal. 

Speaking to GBC’s Joyce Gyekye on the ban, the Associate Director of WACAM, a Civil Society organisation in Environment, Hannah Owusu Koranteng, thinks the President and his Cabinet have legitimate reasons not to lift the ban.
