NHIS withdraws licence of some Service Providers for falsification of claims

The National Health Authority says it has withdrawn the licences of a number of service providers for falsification of claims, while a number of providers are also standing trial for various offences. 

Communication and Media Relations Officer at the NHIA, Braimah Sarpong, told GBC’s Felix Cofie that the Authority is also seeking to amend the NHIA Act to ensure stiffer punishment for such offenders.

On the payment of arrears owned providers, Mr. Sarpong said, the Authority has cleared a substantial number of arrears from 2016 to June 2017. 

He however said the scheme is conducting due diligence on arrears from October to December 2016 to ensure that service providers truly rendered these services for which they are to be paid.
