Food and Drugs Authority solicits help of Police CID in prosecution of Media Houses flouting ban on alcoholic beverage advertisement before 8pm The Food and Drugs Authority has cautioned a number of media organisations for flouting its regulations regarding air-time for advertisement of alcoholic beverages. The FDA says per its monitoring system, a number of media organisations are complying with the regulation, while others are flouting the law with impunity. Director of Communication at the FDA, James Lartey told Radio Ghana's Felix Cofie that, the Authority has asked the Police CID to assist in prosecuting offending media houses. On sanctions against offenders, Mr. Lartey said, the Authority will have to decide whether to prosecute the presenter who played the advert at a wrong time, the media organisation or both the media organisation and the advertisement company.
