President Akufo-Addo Worried Over Massive Youth Unemployment Is a year into President Akufo-Addo's 4 year tenure long enough to judge his performance? There have been varied opinions already expressed on this. Indeed, there have been promises kept, promises broken and promises ignored in this one year. But how much have his policies changed things? President Akufo-Addo engaged the media today to assess his one year achievements. Our correspondent Bright Ntramah takes a look at the President’s second media encounter, questions asked and responses given by the president. The Banquet Hall of the Flagstaff House was filled to capacity as News Editors and Senior Journalists in the capital, Accra and other parts of the country took turns to quiz the President on his one year's administration. The extra chairs provided could not contain the huge media representation, prompting some to stand throughout the two hour encounter. President Akufo-Addo in his traditional attire served notice of his eagerness to answer all questions thrown at him when he opted to stand throughout the encounter. Questions asked ranged from security, sports, environment, economics among others. The President had the support of his Vice and Ministers and on two occasions had to refer some questions to them to answer. The encounter, begun with a 30-minute presentation by President Akufo-Addo where he touched on the achievements of his young government. His introductory remark was on youth unemployment. This according to officials demonstrates how crucial President Akufo-Addo sees the menace. President Akufo-Addo described as unacceptable, the youth queuing to be employed. The President turned his attention on Agriculture and described “The Planting for Food and Jobs” as a success. He said more farmers would be enrolled on the Programme this year. On the Economy, President Akufo-Addo highlighted some key indicators which shows the government is on track in bringing the country back to the path of growth and prosperity. The size of his ministers featured prominently in the encounter. A journalist asked the President if the size will be reduced.
