President Akufo-Addo engages media tomorrow After one year in office, President Akufo-Addo will tomorrow (January 17), hold a media encounter at the Flagstaff House. The encounter will be such that Ghanaian top journalists will have the opportunity to grill the President and ask him questions pertaining to his stay in office so far. The event, which will begin at 11:30 am, will give journalists the opportunity to quiz the President on controversial issues which have cropped up in his first year in office. This will be the second of such encounters since assuming power. In his last encounter the President was quizzed on vigilantism, galamsey, appointments and flagship policies such as the Free SHS which is kicked off last September among others. Even though government has not been able to fulfill all the campaign promises it is the widely held perception among the government officials that President has achieved more. This month, President Akufo-Addo appointed Matin Amidu as the Special Prosecutor after signing into law the bill creating that office. This is expected to generate media discussions as to what went into the choice. The initial challenges facing the Free SHS, the one district one factory are expected to also come up for discussion.
