Girl, 12, murdered in cold blood at Agona Swedru

A 12 year old girl was in the early hours of Sunday murdered in cold blood by an unknown person at the outskirt of Gomoa Ekwamkrom, near Agona Swedru in the Central Region.

Miss Ajula Sumaila was said to have been sent by her father, Sumaila Omaro, a herdsman living on the outskirts of Gomoa Ekwamkrom at about 06:30am to fetch water from a well near their village for household chores. 

The Agona Swedru District Police Commander, Superintendent Seth Panti Yirenkyi told the media that at about 07:30am the father of the deceased reported that he sent his daughter to fetch water but had not returned. 

Not quite long, there were shouts that the daughter has been killed by an unknown person about a 100 meters from the village where he rears his cattle.

According to the District Commander, Omaro rushed to the scene and saw his daughter dead with a deep cutlass wound at the back of her head.

The District Commander said so far no arrest has been made and investigations are ongoing to unravel the mystery behind the killing.
