IFSS to organize skate soccer challenge cup The International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) in collaboration of Binatone Ghana is organizing a local friendly tournament to prepare the national skate soccer team for the upcoming African Cup next month. Western Tigers, Zongo Lions, Accra Giants and Ashanti Warriors are teams to compete for the glittering trophy at stake for the one day event which takes place on Saturday 20th January 2018. The Rolling Rockets have previously played in three international matches with Ghana shockingly losing by 8-1 to Nigeria in Lagos last year. Skate Soccer game is meant for driving away polio survivors on the streets of Accra begging for alms and also expose the potential of these players to the outside world. Speaking to GBC’s Uniiq FM in Accra, the Chief Executive of IFSS, Albert Frimpong revealed the reasons for the competition. “This will afford the organizers (IFSS) to test the ground and also the technical handlers to map out their strategies to build a formidable team for Ghana. As CEO of the organization, a lot of weight is on me to ensure that all goes well. I am confident in my team members and the sponsors Binatone for successful events.” Despite the tournament attracting the benevolence of companies such as Polytank, Hyundai, Jumia B5 Plus and Diamond Cement, Mr Frimpong has charged corporate Ghana to come on board for the humanitarian revolution for the physically challenged through Skate soccer.
