Peki Adzokoe D/A gets support from Youth Association

The Peki Adzokoe D/A Basic School in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region have received a facelift after the Adzokoe Development Youth Association both home and abroad rehabilitated their dilapidated classroom blocks. 

The Association also provided the school with sixty pieces of table and chairs to enable the pupils learn in comfort. 

The chairman of the Association, Christian Yaw Gidi, noted that the gesture worth over nineteen thousand Ghana cedis forms part of their effort to compliment government’s commitment to improve educational standards in the area. 

He therefore appealed to government through the South Dayi District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service to help and secure the needed teaching and learning materials for effective academic work in the school. 

He also appealed to government to complete the nurse’s bungalow which was also a community initiative but abandoned over the years for lack of funds to provide accommodation for the resident nurses. 

The South Dayi Deputy District Director of Education in-charge of supervision and monitoring, Peace Osai who received the chairs on behalf of the South Dayi District Directorate of Education thanked the Association for their kind gesture. 

She urged pupils and management of the school to maintain the facilities with good care to prolong its lifespan. 

Mrs. Osai called for collaboration between parents, teachers and the community to promote quality education in the area and also advised the pupils to take their studies seriously to secure a better future. 

The MP for the area, Rockson Dafeamekpor, reiterated his commitment to collaborate with the Assembly to ensure the district gets its fair share of development. 

He therefore called on the traditional leaders in the area to unite and promote the area.
