Renowned Journalist Alhaji Bature is dead

The Managing editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu is died.

Alhaji Bature 60, was a senior journalist with many years of practice and a known sympathizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, (NDC).

He was admitted to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.

He died this afternoon, Friday, 5 January.

Confirming his death on a private radio in Accra, an Editor of his newspaper, Amos Blessing said an official statement will be issued to give further details.

Alhaji Bature was the founder and Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper and was a regular host of the political Talk show “Alhaji and Alhaji on an Accra based FM Radio Gold.

He was also a regular panelist on popular political discussion talk shows on radio and television.

Latest reports gathered by GBCONLINE indicate that arrangements have been made to send the body home for Islamic rights to be performed ahead of the burial ceremony early Saturday, in accordance to the Islamic law.
