About 3,000 vehicles registered at Koforidua DVLA last year- Regional Head discloses


About two thousand, 758 vehicles were registered by the Koforidua Office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) last year, comprising 863 private vehicles, one thousand and 7 commercial vehicles and 588 motorcycles. 

This was disclosed by the Eastern Regional Manager of the DVLA, Eric Addison in an interview with GBC's Sunrise FM reporter on Wenesday, January 3, 2018. 

He said, on Tuesday, January 2nd, this year, which was officially the first working day of the year, 91 vehicles were registered without much difficulties. 

Mr. Addison added that the DVLA expanded their service centres for vehicle registration last year to ease pressure on the Koforidua office and to bring their services closer to clients. 

The new service centres were opened in Somanya and Nkawkaw and have been functioning smoothly to improve services to clients. 

In order to quicken the processes involved in vehicle registration, Mr. Addison said, his outfit has introduced the Premium Service that allows vehicle owners to complete the process in a maximum of 30 minutes.  

Explaining why there are a lot of vehicles to be registered during the early stages of the New Year, he said clients wait until the beginning of the year in order to have new registration numbers to begin the year. 

Mr. Addison advised vehicle owners to deal with the appropriate DVLA officials when they visit his outfit and encouraged them to channel all their grievances to the authorities involved for quick results.
