Man sentenced to twenty years in Prison for defilement An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a fifty-year-old painter and resident of Nungua, Daniel Tetteh Ashitey, to twenty years in prison for defiling a twelve-year-old girl. The convict pleaded guilty to the offense. On the 15th of last month, the victim returned from town when the convict, who is the uncle to the victim, lured her into his room, covered her mouth with a handkerchief and had sex with her. In his explanation, the convict only corrected the date of the incident as 12th of last month and not 15th, as narrated by the Police. He also denied covering the mouth of the victim with a handkerchief before having sex with her. He refused to speak substantively on the offense leveled against him. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
