Upper West: Call for MDAs to include BECE performance targets in medium term development plans

The continuous decline in the performance of students in the BECE remains a serious concern to parents and teachers in the Upper West Region. 

An Islamic scholar Alhaji Baba Musah Adam is therefore proposing that Municipal and District Assemblies in the Region should include in their Medium Term Development Plans, targets on performance at the BECE level. 

Alhaji Adam is further calling for an award scheme to be instituted to reward head teachers whose schools perform well in the BECE. 

This in his view will lead to tremendous improvement in the performance of students at the level. 

These proposals came up at the 2017 Muslim Youth Summit organised by Muslims Intellectual Network, at Wa.
