Monkeypox in Nigeria spreads to 23 states

Nigeria's health authorities say Monkeypox has now spread across 23 of Nigeria’s 36 states. 

The outbreak, which began in September, has infected 61 people, killing one person. According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, the number of new cases is now declining.

They further stated that an awareness campaign including warning people against eating monkeys and bush meat.

While surveillance measures have been put in place.
