MTN commended for supporting Lawra Kobine Festival The Chairman of the Kobine Festival Planning Committee of Lawra, Naa Gyetuo Naab has commended MTN Ghana for continually supporting the Lawra Traditional Council for the past seven years. He pointed out that “MTN has done a very marvelous work by making the Kobine Festival special and colorful” with the in-kind and financial support it has been giving to the traditional area. Naa Gyetuo Naab expressed the sentiment when he received a package from MTN Ghana in relation to the Kobine Festival at Lawra in the Upper West Region on behalf of the festival planning committee. GBC’s Emmanuel Mensah-Abludo says the package include five thousand Ghana Cedis, a 500-Ghana-Cedi airtime, two sets of jerseys for the finalists of Kobine football gala, T-shirts, caps, vuvuzelas and water bottles. Naa Gyetuo Naab was very thankful to MTN Ghana, saying the chiefs and people of Lawra appreciate the excellent efforts of the company over the seven years that it has been reaching out to them. He also entreated the people of the Lawra Traditional Area to reciprocate what he termed the wonderful gesture of the MTN to enable it to continue the partnership with Lawra. The MTN Channel Development and Acting Mobile Money Manager for Northern Ghana, Stephen Asare who presented the package, said MTN is privileged to be associated with the Kobine Festival for the past seven years and particularly the 2017 Kobine Festival which is the 41st. He stated the MTN has a lot of support and loyalty from its customers as well as traditional authorities and that the company will not take the partnership it has with the people for granted. Mr. Asare stressed the importance for the public to use mobile money in their cash management activities in order to derive the comfort and convenience associated with the service. The Network Manager, Joseph Kojo Addai, Northern Ghana Regional Marketing Officer, Madam Salormey Darko and Upper Regional Manager, Obed Adu-Amankwah were some of the MTN personnel at the event.
