Ghana joins world to celebrate Global Handwashing Day

The Community Water and Sanitation Agency with support from UNICEF is working on a new initiative to revive handwashing with soap among the people.

This is because hand washing with soap is one of the remedies in reducing diarrhea and other diseases especially among children. 

The Agency with its partners have been advocating handwashing with soap which saw some positive gains. 

But over the years the campaign has died down making it difficult to achieve proper sanitation.
  
Chief Executive of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency, Worlanyo Siabi, said the Agency is working on other sanitation issues. 
 
Mr. Siaba stated that the Agency is also leading a drive against open defecation which is a bigger challenge.
