President Akufo Addo marks UGCC 70th anniversary at Saltpond

President Akufo Addo Friday joined the People of Saltpond at the Wesley Methodist Church to mark the 70th Anniversary of the formation of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). In attendance were Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State.

Most Rev Asante Antwi, who was the officiating Minister at the Memorial and Thanksgiving Service said the formation of the UGCC some 70 years ago had as one of its major objectives, the unity of the Country. 

He therefore called on the People of Ghana to unite behind the government and support all the several policies that are to be rolled out.

The celebration would be climaxed with a memorial lecture where the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Mike Oquaye, will deliver a paper on Ghana’s history under the theme, “4th August: Ghana’s Day of Destiny” at the National Theatre in Accra.
