Fire engulfs world's tallest residential tower in Dubai

Fire last night ripped through one of the world's tallest residential towers in Dubai, engulfing part of the skyscraper and sending chunks of debris plummeting below.

More than 40 floors of the 86-storey Torch Tower burned on one side of the building.

Occupants could be seen on the street crying.

Dubai's Civil Defense agency says firefighters have brought the blaze under control and no injuries have been reported.

It is the second time in two and half years that the more than one thousand one hundred -foot-tall tower has been ravaged by fire.
