160 million Euro programme launched to ensure sustainable agric production The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has launched a one hundred and sixty million Euro programme aimed at ensuring sustainable agricultural production and value chain development in selected areas of the Savanna Ecological Zone. The programme is being funded by the European Union under the eleventh European Development Fund with the German government also contributing 10.1 million Euros. It is starting with the release of twenty million Euros for the implementation of one of its three components known as Market-Oriented Agricultural Programme, MOAP in the Upper West and part of Northern regions. Launching the programme at Wa, a Minister of State at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Dr Nurah Gyeile said Ghana will miss key areas of the Sustainable Development Goals if it fails to invest heavily in the agricultural sector.
