Minority MPs demand agreement on Ghana, China $19bn commitment The Minority Caucus in Parliament is asking government to submit to Parliament the detailed information on the Memorandum of Understanding, MOU entered into with the Chinese government for the 19 Billion Dollar commitment to Ghana in accordance with the Constitutional Provisions. According to the Caucus, Articles 181 and 268 of the Constitution cloth Parliament with the responsibility of ratifying all international transactions on behalf of the people of Ghana and government must honour that obligation. Addressing a News Conference in Parliament, the Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu said whether the commitment is a loan or a joint venture the law must be upheld. The Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu further explained that it is unfortunate that the Government is not certain on the amount of money being committed under the MOU and called for clarity on that.
