Bono Accident: Female student of Afua Kobi Serwah Ampem Nursing school retrieved dead A female first year female student of the Afua Kobi Serwaa Ampem Nursing School at Tafo Nhyiaeso in Kumasi who was among students involved in a fatal accident near Abono in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti has been retrieved dead. She was trapped under the bus on which they were travelling but developed a brake failure and fell into a deep ditch. Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Kuntanase District Police Commander, ASP Obo Takyi, said it took the combined efforts of the police and residents of Abono to retrieve the body from the wreckage of the bus in the ditch which is about 150 metres deep. He said the body has been deposited at the St. Michael's Hospital's morgue at Pramso in the Bosomtwe District. ASP Obo Takyi said the injured made up of students, lecturers and the driver, have been treated and discharged from the various hospitals. ASP Takyi however, expressed worry about the inability of the school authorities to give the exact number of occupants of the bus which was transporting the nurse trainees to Lake Bosomtwe on an excursion. Meanwhile, the wreckage of the vehicle is still in the ditch. GBC
