Fire Service bemoans lack of equipment to fight fire

Fire destroyed some offices in the premises of Coconut Groove Hotel causing the loss of property running into millions of Ghana cedis. 

Analysts and observers have complained about the performance of the Fire Service when it comes to putting off fires. 

Radio Ghana finds out from the P.R.O of the Service, Prince Billy Anaglate whether the critics are justified or the Service has genuine challenges. 

He said there are some difficulties in fighting fire because some hydrants do not have enough water. 

Mr. Anaglate explains what he means by that in an interview with GBC’s George Ankrah.

He bemoaned the lack of equipment to fight fire should they occur in high rise buildings.

Mr. Anaglate also touched on kiosks that are being constructed all over saying these structures impede the work of the Service in case any fire outbreak. 

He appealed to chiefs, landlords and individuals to appreciate the need to have access into premises during rescue missions.
