Public Accounts Committee Chairman Warns Media Against Misinterpretation Of Terms The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament and Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi has entreated the media to desist from imputing wrong interpretations to the terms used by the Auditor-General in his audited reports. He said the embellishment and improper translation of terms in the reportage of the proceedings of the Committee by some local language media stations have over the years created wrong impression on the minds of the citizens about findings of the auditor General. Mr. Avedzi therefore urged the media to study the terms used by the Auditor-General in his report to enable them convey the right message to the public. He was speaking at a workshop in Koforidua organized for the Parliamentary Press Corps. Presenting an overview on the legal framework underlining the work of the Public Accounts Committee a Consultant and Former Member of Parliament, Robert Sarfo Mensah touched on the need for government to take a second look at the application of the financial laws in certain situations.
