Clashes At Agbogbloshie In Accra

At least two people are feared dead and several others injured in clashes at the Kokomba market at Agbogbloshie in Accra.

It is not yet clear what might have triggered the clashes. 

Meanwhile, the police and the military have managed to break into the area to restore some level of calm.

Two persons have been confirmed dead in clashes between Konkombas and Dagombas at Agbogbloshie or old Fadama in Accra.

A third victim of the clashes, said to be a pregnant woman, is reportedly in critical condition. 

The clashes erupted between some Konkombas and Dagombas over an alleged phone theft case.

Reports say the two sides attacked each other with deadly weapons. 

The renewed violent clashes between the two northern ethnic groups living in Accra has left many severely injured. 

Many of the injured have been rushed to the hospital.

The Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Efia Tenge, confirmed on our news and current affairs programme 'Behind the News', that the situation has been brought under control.
