50% cut in fertilizers to increase production The President of the Agriculture Chamber of Commerce, Philip Abayori says the 50 percent cut in fertilizers will ensure increase in production and also encourage farmers to be competitive. He said though this could encourage smuggling the Ministry is putting out measures to ensure that this does not happen. Meanwhile Director of Crops at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture Asante Krobia says the 50 percent price cut for fertilizer is to give incentive to farmers to produce more to feed the nation and for export. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr. Krobia said it is the responsibility of every Ghanaian and the police to report any smuggling activities for action. GBC
