Chief Justice Georgina Wood not on leave - Judicial Service The Judicial Service has refuted reports that the Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood, has proceeded on leave prior to retirement. In a statement signed by the Director of Communications, Grace Tagoe, it says the information on the purported leave of the Chief Justice is misleading adding that, it was fuelled by her absence at the State of the Nation Address delivered by the President yesterday (Feb. 21). The statement said the absence of the Chief Justice has been duly communicated to the Presidency. It will be recalled that last Saturday (Feb. 18), GBC carried the news of her departure to Cairo, Egypt for a conference of Chief Justices, Presidents of Supreme Courts, Constitutional Courts and Heads of Judiciaries in Africa. The Service wishes to assure the public that any news about the retirement of the Chief Justice when it is due will be communicated as such.
