Closure of Buipe Bridge for repair works leaves commuters stranded

Hundreds of travellers have been stranded in Buipe in the Northern Region following the closure of the main bridge that connects to Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region. 

The bridge was closed on Friday February 17, for repairs.  This is to enable the Bridge Maintenance Unit of the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) to undertake emergency repair works on one of the major bridges on the Tamale-Kintampo highway. 

According to GBC’s correspondents, vehicles are stuck in all lanes.
