E/R:  Demarcated CHPS compounds built to improve staff output of health services personnel

As a means of increasing access to quality health to all areas of the country, six hundred and 14 out of eight hundred and 49 demarcated CHPS compounds have been built with integrated check list to improve staff output of all health services personnel in the Eastern Region. 

The Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Charity Sarpong made this known during the opening of annual Performance Review meeting for 2016 in Koforidua.
 
Dr. Sarpong said the regional directorate has trained 50 doctors, 423 midwives and 152 nurses and also mentioned some challenges confronting the health system in the region.

The Director, Supplies, Stores and Drug Management Division at the Ghana Health Services, Araba Kudiabor, noted that scaling up CHPS, strengthening sub-district health service delivery and adequate preparedness and response to public health and hospital emergencies are priority areas for 2017 and urged the health workers to take note.

The Eastern Regional Coordinating Director, Reindolf Sambo, who represented the Regional Minister also acknowledged that strong health systems will help achieve the SDGs and called for concerted efforts from the regional health directorate to enable the government to realize its vision in the health sector.
