Police in Eastern Region intensify crackdown on robbers Three suspected robbers were arrested by the Effiduase Police after an identification parade at Koforidua- Effiduase in the Eastern Region. The suspects namely Isaac Gariba, Divine Modzake and Isaac Nketia, will appear before court February 22. The fourth suspect, Richard Obeng, a taxi driver, is on the run. Briefing the media after the exercise, the Effiduase District Police Commander, ASP Daniel Yaro, said about 12 victims suffered from the robbers but seven were able to avail themselves to help identify the suspects. He said the exercise will not be a one day wonder but will be carried out regularly to help check the bad nuts in the society. ASP Yaro therefore appealed to the public to willingly divulge information to the police to bring the perpetrators to book. The Koforidua Divisional Police Commander, Superintendent Richardson Kumekor, who assisted in the exercise, noted that fighting crime is a collective responsibility and called for public support. He said the police will continue to discharge its duties efficiently to help reduce the crime wave in the municipality. GBC
