Takoradi Port secures public-private partnership agreement to manage container terminal The Takoradi Port has ceded its container clearing operations to a private company, Ibix Tex, Ghana limited. This follows an agreement signed between the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), and the company. Under the agreement, all cargos in containers will be sent from the Port to the Inland Clearing Depot known as the Takoradi Container Terminal. At a stakeholders' forum at the facility in Takoradi, a Consultant to the Project, Kwame Gyan disclosed that from the 7th of this year, all goods will be cleared at the Takoradi Container Terminal, adding that, the various state agencies involved in clearing of goods will have offices at the facility. He also explained that, under the agreement, GPHA will receive 25% of the gross revenue from operations of the facility while 75% will go to the company. Mr Gyan further explained the significance of the Takoradi Terminal Project and its impact on the operations of the Takoradi Port. GBC
