President Akufo-Addo Assures Of Developing Foreign Relations And Friendship President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured members of the Diplomatic Corp of developing and maintaining the alliances and friendship entered into with the international community over the years. He said these alliances would be leveraged to grow the economy and Nation. Speaking at the presentation of new year greetings to the President by the Diplomatic Corp, President Akufo Addo said Ghana’”s engagement with other African countries would be prime in his foreign policy agenda, adding that his government would be active in the membership of ECOWAS and AU. Every year, members of the Diplomatic Corp assembly before the sitting President to deliver goodwill message from their respective government. Ministers, the speaker of Parliament and members of Parliament, the chief justice and some Supreme court judges, traditional rulers and religious leaders were present. President Akufo-Addo said Ghana will continue to provide the requisite leadership to ensure that ECOWAS and A.U achieve their set targets. He noted that the success stories of ECOWAS and AU cannot be complete without weaving into them the varying roles played by Ghana. In the area of peace and security of the continent, President Akufo Addo said the growth of democracy on the continent is threatened by the spread of terrorism. He said Ghana will do everything possible to support efforts to defeat terrorism. He called for urgent reforms of the UN Security Council to reflect modern trend in security. The Dean of the Diplomatic Corp Pavelyn Tendai Musaka called for concerted efforts in tackilng terrorism on the African continent. GBC
