President Akufo-Addo Congratulates New German President

Ghana's President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated the newly elected President  of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

In a statement, President Akufo-Addo recalled his time as Foreign Affairs Minister and his encounter with the German President, which enabled the two countries to deepen  relations. 

He hoped the relations between Germany and Ghana will further be strengthened. 

Frank-Walter Steinmeier was elected as Germany’s new president on Sunday, marking a big victory for the centre-left Social Democrats ahead of critical parliamentary elections later this year.
