Bimbilla Hospital In Dire Need Of Ambulance

The Bimbilla Hospital is in urgent need of an ambulance. 
Despite the conflict in the area with its attendant deaths and injuries, the hospital lacks an ambulance for emergency referral cases. 

The hospital serves as a referral center for surrounding communities including Wulensi and Kpandai, Damonko. 

Speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana Correspondent, Murtala Issah in Bimbilla, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Osman Abdulai, explained that, they beg for vehicles from private individuals to convey emergencies. 

The poor state of the Bimbilla-Yendi road, has compounded the situation. The open nature of the Bimbilla Hospital also makes it vulnerable, especially in a conflict prone community such as Bimbilla. 

Radio Ghana also learnt that, hospital attendance has gone down since the renewal of clashes last week. 

The hospital according to Dr. Osman, receives around two hundred patients a day, but the figure went down drastically, following the disturbances, with the hospital recording as low as five new cases daily. 

On Tuesday however, the figures went up, to sixty seven cases as at 11 am. Some health personnel who fled the community have also started returning. 

First and second cycle schools in the area remain closed.
