President Akufo-Addo Advises Ministers To Be Of Service To Nation 

President Akufo Addo has charged his appointees to see the opportunity of a Minister as an avenue for service but not to lord it over the citizenry. 

He said the position of a minister is to advance public interest not personal fortune. 

President Akufo Addo said this at the Flagstaff House when he swore in the third and final batch of 11 ministerial nominees approved by Parliament. 

This brings to 36 the number of substantive ministers sworn into office. 

They took the oaths of allegiance, Minister and secrecy. 

The Ministers sworn in include Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Catherine Abelema Afeku, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Planning Minister, Professor Gyan Baffour and Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah. 

The others are Business Development Minister, Awal Ibrahim Mohammed, Special Business Initiative Minister, Mavis Hawa Koomson, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Kofi Dzamesi and Aviation Minister, Cecilia Dapaah. 

Inner City and Zongo Development Minister, Boniface Abubakar Saddique, Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye and Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid were also sworn in by the President. 

President Akufo Addo urged his appointees to discharge their duties with integrity, stressing his earlier call for his appointees to declare their assets. 

He advised them to see the opportunity of ministerial appointment as an avenue for service to the nation. 

A Service which should be discharged with humility. 

The President was grateful to Parliament for fast tracking the vetting of the Ministers. 

He appealed to the Appointments committee to do same with the vetting of the regional ministers and soon-to-be named deputy ministers. 

On behalf of the ten other colleagues the Minister of Planning Minister, Professor Gyan Baffour assured the President that the need to protect the public purse will always be their guiding principle.
