Two Killed In Bimbilla Renewed Shooting 

Renewed shooting in Bimbilla in the Northern Region over chieftaincy dispute has resulted in the death of two people with eight others injured.
 
In an interview with GBC`s George Asekere on Behind The News, the Public Relations Officer of the Northern Region Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said there is uneasy calm in the township as sporadic gunshots could be heard from the outskirts of the town.
 
But the police and military at post are unable to move in for fear of a cross fire. 
 
He explained that the clash was ignited by an attempt by one of the feuding factions to install a sub-chief.

Meanwhile The National Network Co-ordinator of the West African Network for Peace building (WANEP) Albert Yilyang, says the conflict in Bimbilla can be amicably resolved by the continual presence of security personnel in the town. 

He also called on the Peace Council and other civil society organisations to add their voices to get the factions to smoke the peace pipe.
