Afoko denies talks with NPP leadership over reinstatement The Spokesperson for the suspended National Chairman of the NPP, Nana Yaw Osei, has denied information circulating on social media claiming that some prominent members of the party have spoken to Paul Afoko to return to his post as the substantive National Chairman. Speaking on GBC’s Garden City Radio’s Super Morning Flight, Nana Yaw Osei mentioned Gabby Okyere Darko and Ken Ofori Atta as some members of the party who appealed to former President John Agyekum Kufuor to persuade Mr. Afoko to accept to resume his position. According to Nana Yaw Osei, Mr. Kufuor however asked the two to personally speak to the suspended National Chairman themselves. He said however that the two party members informed the Flagbearer of NPP about the turn of events, asking him to speak to Mr. Afoko in person which, he noted, is yet to come to pass. Nana Yaw Osei described the speculations as part of propaganda to suggest that it is rather Mr. Afoko who is unwilling to re-unite with the party. The Spokesperson stressed that Mr. Afoko will only agree to resume his national chairmanship position only when those who made certain allegations against him regarding his purported flirtation with the ruling NDC and sabotage of Nana Akufo Addo’s ambition come out publicly to deny such claims.
