PPP branded pickup kills three, injured one Three persons died whilst a fourth person, a child sustained serious injuries when a PPP branded pickup run into them near Salaga. Eye witnesses told radio Ghana that, the pickup run into some jubilant supporters of the party who were on their way to welcome the PPP presidential candidate, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom. Dr. Nuom addressed a rally at Bunjayi in the Salaga North Constitunecy on Wednesday, however, the accident happened on his blind side as the vehicle involved in the accident was not part of his convoy. Radio Ghana’s Northern Regional Correspondent who followed Dr. Nduom on his two day regional tour said the flag bearer got to know about the accident on his way to Savelugu after the rally in Bunjayi. The deceased have since been buried whilst the injured child is receiving treatment at the Salaga Government Hospital. Reckless driving of cars and careless riding of motorbikes during political campaign have become the norm in the Northern Region. The National Road Safety Commission, recently raised an alarm on the issue, however, party activists are yet to heed to the advice. The Chief of Tamale, Dapema Naa Mohammed Alhassan Dawuni and other chiefs in the metropolis have also added their voices to the matter but the youth remain adamant. GBC
