Veep Amissah –Arthur  & NDC supporters defy rains to launch Muntakar's campaign

Hundreds of NDC faithful including the Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur MPs and other national officers of the party defied a persistent heavy rainfall to turn out in their numbers for the campaign launch of the MP for Asawase and Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak at Asawase in Kumasi. 

Mr. Amissah-Arthur charged the supporters to police the ballot in order to prevent the NPP and any other political party from rigging the election. 

He excited the supporters with the story of a boxing bout between President Mahama and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with President Mahama winning on all two counts and with the Presidential election in December being round three. 

Speaker after speaker at the rally, campaign launch and outdooring of a 17-member campaign taskforce stressed the need for the party supporters especially the polling station agents to police every single ballot. 

In this way it will be difficult for the NPP to rig the election. They must report any violent conduct or excessive provocation or threat to the security agencies. 

NDC supporters were also told to come out in their numbers on December 7 to vote “Zu” for President Mahama and “Za” for the parliamentary candidates. 

Vice President Amissah-Arthur who is also the running mate to President Mahama said the convention of giving sitting Presidents two terms in office must be extended to President Mahama as well. 
 
The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketsia thanked all who prayed for him and wished him well when the vehicle he was travelling on was involved in an accident last week. 

He said the NDC is the only political party that does not discriminate against any Ghanaian irrespective of their political, religious, social, cultural and economic background. 

A former National Organizer of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan called on members who lost in the internal elections of the party to join the campaign and support it with their skills, experience, financial or logistically. 

He said in the NDC, if one loses an election, the member is not regarded as an outcast but still remains a full member unlike what happens in other political parties. 

Mr. Boateng Gyan added his voice to calls on the NDC supporters to be vigilant and police the ballot on December 7.

A number of sitting NDC MPs including the Greater Regional Minister Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo graced the Asawase NDC’s campaign launch.
