First Green Ghana Awards held in Accra The Omanhene of the Esikadu Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Nketia has called on chiefs and people in involved in land administration to collaborate to protect Ghana's lands from environmental degradation. He said this is particularly necessary in the wake of climate change and its devastating effects across the world. Speaking at the first Green Ghana Awards in Accra, Nana Kwabena Nketia quoted a UN report which suggested that 2016 has been the hottest year ever recorded by meteorologists. This he said came about due to poor care of the environment. He added that the issue is a serious one which needs to be addressed from all quarters. GBC
