Panelists Hail Ghana's fourth Republican Democratic Credentials

A Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr, Kumi Ansah Koi has hailed Ghana's democratic consolidation process in the forth republic. 

He said democracy is practiced differently across the globe hence it will be  erroneous for anyone to measure the  practice of democracy and expect the same standards everywhere. 

Dr. Ansah Koi made the comments on GBC's Current Affairs Program Talking Point which discussed the growth of democracy in Ghana. 

He said despite the successes chalked up, there is still more to be done in areas of educating the citizens and strengthening governance institutions.

An elder statesman, K B Asante said Ghana's democracy has been very good despite some challenges. 

He called on stakeholders to consolidate the gains and improve upon the systems taking into consideration best practices elsewhere,
 
The Head of Research and Programs at CDD Ghana, Dr. Franklin Oduro said research shows that seven out of ten Ghanaians prefer democracy to any other form of governance despite the challenges. He said the focus now should be how to deepen democracy and investing in the right structures.
